Water, the essence of life. The stuff that makes this blue/green ball of rock we live on both blue and green. Were it not for the fact that H2O flows freely in our oceans, through canyons, over fields, and out of springs, while still maintaining solid form at the northern and southern most poles of our planet, there would be no life on earth. This delicate dance around 32 Degrees Fahrenheit (0 Degrees Centigrade for you foreign types) makes this planet livable. Otherwise, life would not exist in this solar system. Probably would not exist for millions of light years. Maybe not even anywhere else in our galaxy or in the universe. Life is such a delicate layer that hovers on the surface of our planet, floating on a thin layer of water.
