Went to the Palace of the Legion of Honor today. I could babel about the art pieces and try to sound sophisticated, but I only want to talk about one:|
Rodin's The Sculptor and His Muse
When I saw these piece, my immediate interpretation was as an apology to the lover of the Sculptor for Rodin's obsession with his craft.
Staring for months at a piece of marble, he might miss subtle queues from his love, like her reaching for his lust.
Of course, my interpretation is colored by my geekiness.
I am sure the actual meaning of the art is much more deep and meaningful, but not nearly as funny.
